Yeken Microfinance is the legal name of the business. Yeken was incorporated legally as Limited liability Company on the 15th day of September, 2008 and tasked to commence business as Microfinance Company on the 16th  day of September, 2008,under the registration of Business Names Act,1962 (No 151). Yeken is located at Spintex-Accra.

Regulation.-The activities of the company is highly regulated by the Banking Supervision Department of Bank of Ghana (BOG). Yeken adhere to the Bank of Ghana Act 2004,the Banking Law 1989, Financial Institution (Non Banking) Law 1993,Ghana Company Code, the Microfinance Companies and Microcredit Activities Regulations, Capital Adequacy Regulations for Liquidity Management, Risk management ,Internal Control and Audit.

Membership. Yeken is affiliated to Ghana Association of Microfinance Companies (GAMC) since the inception of the association.

Historical Development-Yeken was established following a careful consideration of the microfinance sector or industry in Ghana. The research conducted by the management team of Yeken shows that, majority of our market women representing 45% and 25% of men brining a total to 70% among many other business owners were neglected by Ghanaian traditional banks and other non financial sectors; because of their low capital and their business segment which was classified as risky.

Yeken was founded to be environmentally, responsible and friendly microfinance company in Ghana, to redeem small entrepreneurship business from collapsing with idea of revamping the national economy and providing financial assistance to market women and men by eradicating poverty from our communities and provides access to affordably credit as a right, not a privilege.

Yeken believes that providing affordable capital is a business model that will allow the company to offer reliable financial and significant social returns to its investors and shareholders  while providing valuable services to its borrowers- granting loans in amounts widely available to people of Ghana and beyond.

Despite the initial low capital of GH¢3,000.00 (Three Thousands Ghana Cedis Only) of the company from 2008 to date, Yeken has grown steadily by increasing it initial capital to GH¢500, 000, 00 under its management and thereby alleviating poverty from the communities especially the market women and men.

To administer a decent and dignify microfinance assistance to all small scale business at reasonable rates, so that micro economic capacity-building can encouraged economically and effectively in Ghana.

YEKEN have ability to spread fixed cost over a large production volume of the company and produce a large volume to achieve greater division of labour and specialization.

HUMAN RESOURCE STRATEGY AND EFFICIENCY. This philosophy refers as the more productive the employees, the lower the unit costs. The challenges of the company Human Resources Manager is to device and encourages employees to increase the productivity

YEKEN BOARD OF DIRECTORS.

Moses Amegbe -is the season lecture at the Presbyterian University College, Abetifi -kwahu.He was appointed as the finance director of the company, since September, 2011.Under his leadership, Yeken was able to grow very fast despite the low initial capital.

Mr.Emmanual Y.Kugblenu -is the founder of the company. He is among the first directors of the company and currently the Chief Executive Officer of the company. He is the graduate of Presbyterian University College with Bsc.Business Administration (Marketing Management Option), Graduate of Saint Felicite with LLB (International Law &Diplomacy), Master Degree in Governance and Leadership-GIMPA up to date.

Mrs. Emefa Normanyo Yekson -is one of the first director’s of the company and holds the position as operations director, since the inception of the company. She graduated from Cape Coast Polytechnique and hold HND in Marketing option and also the graduate of University of Ghana in Accountancy. She is very talented and industrious and always achieves the target and goals of the company. Upon her skills and support, the company is recording high corporate reputation.
